Rochelle's Bio

As an alumna of the Florida State University Graduate Social Work Program living in Miramar, Florida, I continue to seek ways to make a large impact on my community through empathic counseling and demonstrating acceptance for all persons with respect to their age, race, gender, gender expression/presentation, religion, sexuality, economic status, and ability.

I have served youth, families, and persons from all walks of life for much of my career, teaching the value of empathy, resilience, humor, patience, and emotional intelligence via community outreach, mental health and wellness presentations and groups, individual and family counseling sessions, and providing comprehensive sexual health education and relationship counseling.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I share mental health information via community groups/circles, social media, vlogging-- and soon-- podcasting to inform communities about the importance of mental wellness, social justice, and the power of using their collective voice. I am happy to share my knowledge of mental health and healthy coping strategies with businesses and community groups. On a daily basis, I use therapeutic skills and the power of positivity in creative ways, promoting good vibes via teletherapy.

Trauma-informed care, empowerment, mentoring young people, singing, dancing, enjoying the beach, hula-hooping, advocating for equality, traveling, and yoga are some of my interests. Now, as a new Life Coach, I look forward to serving those in need of creative and empowering support. Next, my goal is to complete my Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training by 2022, and add the essence of my Caribbean heritage to facilitate that powerful healing process.

Over the past decade, I have been tapped for LGBTQ wellness educational seminars, self-care and meditation trainings, youth workshops, and minority wellness events. I have written curricula on the topics of life-skills and women's wellness, and continue writing via mental health and wellness.

Thank you for reading about me!

I look forward to meeting and connecting with you soon.

Peace & Love,
